2009 Results: Completed on August 30 in almost perfect weather with 387 registered runners and 344 finishers. First place: Male - Jeff Purdom (26) in 35:43 and Female - Elena Shemyakina (50) in 40:29.
2008 Results: Completed on Aug. 24. There were 314 registrants and 276 finishers. First Place Male: Brock Hunter in 34:58; First Female: Erin Fort in 44:59. Congratulations to all runners.

The Windrunner 10K is brought to you by the Lisle Windrunners running club. This is a CARA Certified race on a USATF certified course. It is run entirely within the forest preserves of Danada and Herrick Lake, with little public traffic, except perhaps some wildlife. Proceeds from the race benefit the Illinois Special Olympics. A prized commemorative T-shirt to all pre-registered runners and race day registrants while they last. Overall and five-year age group awards. There will be refreshments, fun and be sure to stay for your chance at winning one of many raffle prizes.
This is a CARA Certified Race
The Windrunner 10K race is a scenic partially shaded, flat to rolling course on limestone trails. The race begins and ends on the Danada Equestrian track located behind the DuPage Forest Preserve HQ in Wheaton. The trail loops through the Danada and Herrick Lake Forest Preserves with split times at each mile and four water stations spaced throughout. The course is USATF Certified

From I-88, exit Naperville road and go north approximately 1/2 mile. From Butterfield Road (Rte 56), turn south on Naperville road and go approximately 1/2 mile.
Parking is available on the east side of Naperville Rd at the Equestrian Center (walk to registration under Naperville rd. tunnel) with overflow on west side of Naperville Rd in the DuPage Forest Preserve HQ parking lot. Gear check is available at the registration table in the equestrian track infield just west of the Forest Preserve HQ building.
Online registration is available until 12 p.m. 3 days before race date. Mail in registration must be received 2 days before race date. Early registration fee is $33.00 with a $3.00 Discount for CARA members. Race day registration is available on race day between 6:45 a.m. and 7:45: a.m. for $35.00. No discount on race day. Register one of four ways:
Packet pick-up can be handled at Dick Pond Athletics, 2783 Maple Ave., Lisle - Saturday 8/17/12 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Packet pick up on race day will be available on the race track infield from 6:45 AM to 7:45 AM.
Gear Check will be available at the Registration tent.
Handsome and unique awards will be presented to the male and female overall winners, and five year age group awards through 70 plus.
Quality commemorative race shirts and goodie bags go to the first 350 pre-registered entrants. Quality raffle prizes will be drawn by number after race is finished and overall winners are announced.
Updated Result sheets will be produced regularly and poste at the award table.
